HP

a bit about it...

If you read the previous "chapters" then you would know by now how I ended up again in HP. I didn't mind so much since I expected to fall in the same job, or a continuation of it. At least this was what was planned and promised. It did not quite work this way. Reasons? I still work here, you wouldn't expect me to go vocal about it in public at this stage, would you? Enough is to say that there is a bulldozer out there waiting impatiently to rumble to powerful life, yet the "environment" prefers to use the delicacy of spades and hoes. OK, fine, with me.

Meanwhile, my time is split between two jobs I adore: one is Account Manager for several key accounts in the UK, and the improved situation of these specifics accounts has quite a lot to do with me (as claimed by these customers and by sales reps, not by me); the second is Technical Manager of shows (customer events, Fespa, IPEX, DRUPA) - a job which everyone hates yet I love. And I love working with the allocated engineers and they love working with me and sales trust us... what's better in this life? Well, sure, a glass of cold beer with the woman you love... :) . I always claimed that, given the choice, I would have a hard time chosing between having sex and doing a job I love. Told you earlier on, lol - that's crazy Yossi.

My aspirations/expectations right now? DRUPA 2012!!!!! Yipeeeee... (which meanwhile... passed, alas!).

a bit of present history...

FAREWELL DRINK, HP, JULY 2013

Let’s see: until now I either finished my contract, or I was fired, or I left of my own will, or I was bought over, or I retired. I believe that except for going bankrupt (though one of the “fired” could be considered as such, lol) – I saw all the types of quitting a job. And with each event you find out who your real friends are and you thank any of the relevant Gods for these people.

Retiring, is different to all the other – it happens only once in a lifetime. It is more special. In certain ways – more final (though I refuse at this stage to accept this “finality”). Therefore the small drink organized for me, the few words and the hugs and well wishes were more special as well. I am thankful to all involved in any aspect of the farewell event. Below a few pictures taken, a few messages sent. Some even sincere :):):) . Brings a tear and a smile to my wrinkled eye. Thank you!

... we will miss your passion for customer and common sense on the critical moments. Your behavior was a reference for the team...

... you leave me speechless… I LOVE YOU MAN. Just don’t stop… just keep on going and going...

... a special talent! You were and are a pleasure to work with, your dedication, work ethics, own special style, professionalism, gentle and a gentleman. Thank you for that excellence on the job and dedication over the years

... I cannot believe this is happening… You’re too young !!!! ... I will miss you so much !!!...And not only me… You are so special...

... it has been an absolute pleasure working with you, you will be missed...

... you ARE the BEST!!...

... sad for everyone, they will all miss you very much...

... you're different, fair play management should be a guide for future times...

... I will never forget your help on the worse of situations...

... you are very special. Blade sharp – to the point that at the beginning this sharpness may be perceived the wrong way, but when one is lucky enough to get more than just one interaction with you – it appears crystal clear that the sharpness comes from the speed of thinking, clarity of understanding and incredible will to advance, resolve, overcome. I am among the lucky ones with more than one interaction...

... you have helped me many times when my path was blocked and for that I remain grateful...

... Scitex without Yossi will not be the same thing... You are an amazing person... Absolutely unique!...

... very rarely do we see a manager like yourself ... you have my great admiration and appreciation!...

... I have had relatively short time to enjoy your judgment, knowledge, style, approach, pragmatism, commitment and energy. But I did it big, big time!!...

... the end of an era...

... you put your life philosophy into a few lines (amazing) and after reading it, I can say that you made me think...

... you are from the “good guys”...

... we haven’t worked that close with one another but the times we did are memorable...

... I had many managers and bosses in my life but the real good ones I can count easily on one hand , and you are one of them!!!...

... it was great working with someone with common sense, and a passion for machinery and people (it is surprisingly quite rare to have all three)...

... it was a great privilege to have met and worked with a true legend of the game, someone who actually understands what this job is. You’ll be greatly missed...

... I still remember our first phone calls ... immediately I felt I was in the right hands...

... I must say that, like many others, I enjoyed working with you and for you... It is very encouraging that, despite troubled times, one could be and stay so positive and driven. It is an inspiration...

... it was great working with you ... you indeed made things happen, which not many people are capable to do!...
